Networking activities as Latin Americans abroad (Chocolate Azteca radio programme)

Nowadays, international migration is a common trend, and building networks and community is

not just necessary, but an experience that changes the living experience of any foreigner.

There are many ways in which we can be part of a community, some are more of the personal choice (meetings, workshops, etcetera), but there are other that can help to be in touch with you language and culture. Technology has come make things easier, right? So, how can you be part of a community if you are so busy to meet with people, listen to a radio programme and even participating on it is a good choice. I want to share with you "Chocolate Azteca" which is a Spanish-speaking local radio programme presented by Latin-Americans, some of them members of the LAPP.

It is amazing for those broadcasters that are part of the LAPP how they find the time and dedication to participate in this kind of great projects. Some of them have even finished their PhD, which is a great example for all of us to realise that it is possible to participate in other activities out of our research area. Perhaps they use this opportunity to forget about their research and share with all of us their love for their Latin American roots.

This radio programme talks about different Latin American topics such as: traditional food, famous drinks, Indigenous cultures, Beautiful places and even jokes and funny stories (this topic in particular was not as funny as I was expecting haha :P ).

All this together with a wide variety of Latin American music such as tropical, rock, banda, mariachi, reggae, ska among others, makes you want to spend a lovely time listening to the radio while you are having lunch or working.

So, if you feel like ready to listen and, why not?, dance anywhere you are all you need to do is visit every Friday from 12:00 to 13:00 hrs allfm.org

You can also find them on Facebook, they always reply to your comments and send you greetings during the transmission :D They can make you feel at home!!! And remember, supporting projects is also being part of a community!!!
